Chaz Holmes
I am a 27-year-old journalist with a passion for pop culture. During the day I write for a local newspaper in Washington state, but when I get home I have to watch my E! News or something doesn't feel right. If there's a story about the latest shenanigans involving Lindsay Lohan (call me) and Samantha Ronson, it's definitely a bonus.
Besides being a fan of celebrity gossip, I am a fervent movie fan, frequenting the theater as often as I reasonably can. Fridays are great not because it starts the weekend, but more importantly because new movies are released and new reviews are published for me to read. What would my Fridays be like if I didn't have A.O. Scott's insightful and uniquely voiced reviews to read in The New York Times? I don't want to imagine that!
Pop music is another of my favorite entertainment pastimes and I almost never drive anywhere without my favorite CDs. Britney Spears and Avril Lavigne have been my driving companions for years and now The Ting Tings, Paramore and Lady Gaga ride shotgun as well.
Professionally I've written for three years following my graduation from Arizona State University, where I received my journalism degree from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. I've been covering city council, school board matters and breaking news, but as long as I've been in journalism I've longed to realize the dream of being an entertainment reporter and I'm excited to be bringing readers stories about those who don't just see the red carpet on the TV.
